TunePad Originals
Original music created in TunePad
Runner
Runner (aka Ghost in the Shell) is a an iterative composition originally based upon the idea of a "Grand Sequencer" i.e. a Drum Sequencer that would allow for a full song form to be represented and rendered. The music is a result of a month-long conversation between myself and the musical previews, each day repeated listens would inspire new elements to be added in response. Somewhere in there the "Ghost in the Shell" idea appeared as a response to the search for musicality in a format of procedural generation.
Mirage
Inspired by the Gerudo Valley Theme
Chillfi
Inspired by my love of Chill-hop and low-key beats to code to... Chillfi begins as an homage to the style, oscillating between two major chords a whole step apart. Similar to the Runner project, this song developed as a conversation between me, the code, and the audio previews. With a few organic elements and vocals added, the result is something that brings me a great sense of peace. I hope you find it relaxing!
Fun with PolyRhythms
Fun with PolyRhythms is a flexible set metronome code that can stack several different musical meters simultaneously. The result is a satisfying aural and visual mode of experiencing overlapping geometric divisions of time. This is a great practice tool for anyone wanting to expand their sense of rhythm beyond the traditional 3/4 and 4/4 temporal divisions.
Tonal PolyRhythms
This project is a variation on the Fun with PolyRhythms project. In this version, the polyrhythmic metronome is used both with percussive and tonal sources creating dreamy, pulsating tones that ebb and flow like waves.
Month One
Month One is a groove based upon a driving bass drone interrupted by sequential modulus operators, each ascending their tones by increasing integers. This has been complemented by randomized siren elements that create a unique listening experience with every refresh of the browser. Dive into the code to explore how to create repeating structures and randomness!
Music Theory AutoHarp
Music Theory AutoHarp is a project designed to expose the underlying mathematical patterns in common music theory terms. The aim is to provide a semantic method of generating musical chord progressions accompanied by rhythms, basslines, harmonies, and melodies based upon common musical descriptors. Create a remix and experiment with the various parameters to create your very own track!
